Agents Boyd O’Brien Bartholomew reported a reduced yarding of 250 head. With widespread rain across the area numbers reduced as buyers competed hard and drove the market to new levels. The backgrounder market was up on last week’s exceptional rates. With eight- to ten-month-old weaner steers returning $1822/head. A smaller yarding of feeder cattle came to hand and sold to increased rates. A reduced number of cows were yarded with the market improving for the medium to light weight cows, whilst heavy cows remained unchanged.
