Agents Boyd O’Brien Bartholomew reported a yarding of 342 head of cattle. The market this week improved for all descriptions. The cow and bull market improved by 10 to 12 cents a kilo, with the export bullock and heifer market showing slight improvements on last week. A quality line of heavy feeder steers came to hand and sold exceptionally well. Trade feeder steers and heifers were in short supply selling to a very competitive panel of buyers. With widespread falls of rain over most of Southern Queensland and New South Wales the backgrounder cattle sold to a dearer market as numbers reduce.
