Agents Boyd O’Brien Bartholomew reported a yarding of 281 cattle. As numbers continue to be hard to source, quality lines of replacement steers and heifers are selling to a very solid market. Vealers and yearlings strengthened as did grain assist and grain accredited trade. Heavy feeder steers sold to a dearer market. Export remained firm to slightly dearer for the top end of the cows.

Droughmaster weaner steers account Colin Cork from Malaney sold for 425.2c/kg weighing 185kg to return $786. Jodie Turgeon, Peak Crossing, sold Santa cross weaner heifers for 397.2c/kg weighing 218kg to return $868. Charolais cross yearling steers account John Collingwood sold for 385.2c/kg weighing 277kg to return $1068.

Grain assist steers account Paul Benstead, Christmas Creek, sold for 385.2c/kg weighing 430kg to return $1656. DE & MB Heck of Glenmorganvale sold grain assist heifers for 382.2c/kg weighing
403kg to return $1541. Golden Pastoral Company, Redland Bay, sold Charolais cross steers 394.2c/kg weighing 455kg to return $1792. Hansen Family Trust sold Simmental cross feeder heifers for 371.2c/kg weighing 446kg to return $1658.

Corry Dowling of Silver Ridge sold Brangus cows for 289.2c/kg which weighed 655kg to come back at $1894. Yawarra Pty Ltd sold Santa cows for 288.2c/kg weighing 623kg to return $2410. They also sold Santa bulls for 303.2c/kg weighing 795kg to return $2410.
